PCForge – Custom PC Building Platform

Overview

PCForge is a custom PC building and configuration platform developed to simplify the process of designing and exploring personalized computer builds.

The platform provides an interactive PC builder where users can customize their desired computer configurations by selecting hardware components such as processors and graphics cards.

Beyond PC configuration, PCForge features a community-driven build showcase where users can explore completed PC setups, discover hardware combinations and draw inspiration from other configurations.

The platform also incorporates build sharing and membership functionality, creating an environment where PC enthusiasts can showcase their configurations and explore different hardware possibilities.

The project focuses on combining interactive functionality, hardware customization and community engagement into a single web application.

The problem

Building a custom PC can be complicated, particularly for users who are unfamiliar with available hardware components and different configuration possibilities.

Finding inspiration, exploring hardware combinations and keeping track of custom PC configurations can also be challenging when these activities are spread across different platforms.

There was a need for a centralized platform where users could customize PC builds, explore completed configurations and share their ideas with other PC enthusiasts.

The solution

Developed PCForge, an interactive web platform that brings PC configuration and build discovery together.

Implemented a custom PC builder that allows users to select and configure hardware components according to their preferences.

Created a completed builds showcase where users can explore existing configurations, view their hardware specifications and discover different PC setups.

Also incorporated build-sharing and membership functionality to encourage community participation and make PC configuration more interactive.
